D2 TOOL STEEL

D2 It is a high-carbon, high-chromium, air-hardening tool steel that is characterized by a relatively high attainable hardness and numerous, large, chromium-rich alloy carbides in the steel. D2 provides an effective combination of wear resistance and toughness. D2 holds an edge very well. You will need a diamond whetstone or better to re-sharpen the edge.

Vacuum Hardened to 58-60HRC - SHARP!

From time to time re-sharpen the blade using a 600-1000 grit diamond whetstone.
