AUS 8 is a Japanese stainless steel developed by Aichi Steel.. Widely used in custom knives, it strikes an excellent balance of corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, decent edge retention, and toughness.Its vanadium addition refines grain and boosts wear resistance, while remaining easy to grind and polish. It is easy to resharpen using a diamond 1000 grit whetstone.

SHEATH: The knife comes with the high-quality leather sheath in the photos. 

CARE: When needed, use a Diamond Wet Stone to re-sharpen the blade. When done using the knife, wash it with soap and water, dry completely, coat with olive oil, and store away from the sheath. Leather pulls moisture out of the air and can rust the blade if stored improperly for long duration of time in the sheath.
